Before installing the grinding wheel, it is also necessary to check whether the wheel is locally damp, as locally damp grinding wheels can encounter great difficulties in balancing, and may even be unable to balance the wheel properly.
When installing the grinding wheel, the tightness of the fit between the inner hole of the grinding wheel and the outer circle of the flange shaft sleeve should be appropriate. If it is too loose, the center of the grinding wheel will deviate too much from the center of the flange, and the grinding wheel will lose balance. At this point, a layer of paper must be placed around the outer circumference of the flange sleeve to eliminate any gaps. If the aperture of the grinding wheel is much larger than the outer circle of the flange sleeve, an additional ring must be prepared before use.
If the aperture of the grinding wheel is smaller than the outer circle of the flange shaft sleeve, it is not allowed to press the grinding wheel hard in with a knife, and it is also not allowed to strike it with a hammer, otherwise the grinding wheel is prone to cracking. At this point, efforts should be made to enlarge the inner hole. A scraper can be used, or a grinding wheel can be mounted on a lathe to align the outer circle.
